A complicated day.

Summer is really here at the moment and we are experiencing very hot days. Phew!!! You can certainly say that, can't you at the moment.

I am quite a sweaty lemuure. But, then, it's been a very busy day. With lots of surprizes. Though the day ended with a nice letter, which I wouldn't open for a while, thinking it might be a bit over the top and telling this lemuure off some. But it turned out to be a very nice letter indeed which left me feeling rather silly for refusing to open it for hours after it'd arrived.

I just left it sitting there while I worried. Opened it and to be sure there was nothing to worry about at all.

It was just one of those days. I'd found out earlier on in the day that I'd planned something a month ahead of when it should be. I joked that it made a change not to be late for once. Though I'm pleased that this is the way it is, I have a whole month more to sort things out in.

But it has been a busy day, just one thing after another. But things got much better late afternoon when I opened the letter to find I'd spent hours worrying over nothing. I thought I'd get what I had to done before reading it. Not that it worked out that way. As I said, it was just one thing after another today.

Best part of the day was in the late afternoon when I thought I was going to have to sort something out which I didn't want and picked up my phone to find a message from the other person saying that things were moving on and they just wanted to know something. Another few hours spent worrying over nothing.

Lunch

I'm sitting here on Newbold Comyn with two small glasses of Diet Pepsi, a bag of marmited snack size rice cakes and a little carton of chocolate soya milk. Eyeing up the chips the Japanese people have on the table next to me. They've ordered a lunch of a filled roll and salad with a bowl of golden looking chips between them to share. I wish I'd a bottle of tomato ketchup in my bag so I could go and offer them some and maybe they would offer me some chips in return.

It's a hot day today, but nice in the shade. There's a slight breeze blowing through the branches of the trees which are turning the leaves into fans, keeping me nice and cool here as well as keeping the glare of the sun away.

A nice way to spend part of the afternoon.

Down by the canal

I walked along the canal path on my way to Sainsburys this afternoon ... and back again. It's really lovely there at the moment. The first thing I notice as I come down from the road onto the tow path is the scent of the water. Reminds me of other waterways, this afternoon I was thinking of the Thames.

A lot of the flowers are over now, but to my surprize I saw blackberries, and I mean ripe ones. I'd seen a few earlier somewhere else but had just thought that they must be in a spot that is a bit of a sun trap. The dog roses have more or less finished flowering too, though I saw a few bushes up on the road that were still in bloom. Instead of the flowers there are rose hips now.

A few ox eye daisies were still in flower just before I left the canal path to come back up on to the road. I'd've liked to've walked further along the canal but the way the roads are there it's easier as a pedestrian to leave the path just there. Most of the earlier flowers had finished blooming though there was quite a bit of lesser pink bindweed there and another plant that must be related to Cow Parsley and Hog Weed, a smaller plant though. The little bindweed reminds me of the coast.

It's a nice walk, slightly shaded by the trees. There weren't that many people there, though a few came by on bicycles, some people walking, and two barges passed on the canal.

sorting out

I didn't much sorting out here yesterday because I've still got a cold and just didn't feel like doing much. Getting rid of some more things. Two years ago I was going to work with someone but that's not happening now because I've got other things to do, and I can't do everything.

So, I'm not going to be taking all that much back with me now. Will be travelling relatively light on me way back.

The papers have to be gone through and taken over to the recycling bin which is just round the corner and just generally sort through, throw away or put aside to give away if I'm not taking the things back with me.

That's today sorted then, pity I can't say the same for the flat, but I guess things will be going that way by this evening.

A.n.other cold

I have another cold. I thought there might be one about to break loose. Tonight ... atishoo ... atishoo ... atishoo.

I went to bed feeling good, a focused lemuure and wondered why I didn't feel quite the same a few hours later when I woke up. Then ... atishoo ... atishoo ... atishoo. Question answered.

Up for a glass of water so as not to get dehydrated.

I know that staying hydrated helps me feel a lot better so potters off to get glass of water.

Lemuures and conservation

Lemuures were honoured by conservationalists by a "newly discovered" lemuure being given the name microcebus mittermeieri. The last part of the name is the surname of the president of Conservation International, Russell Mittermeier.

A conference was held in Madagascar to talk about development and conservation

And the three different types of mouse lemuure recently discovered by people in Madagascar were mentioned it seems.

While talking about these mouse lemuuries, and best of luck to them, it must be remembered that other lemuures on Madagascar are having problems because their forest homes have been demolished and they are now part of the endangered species of the world.

Hopefully the conference will help the other lemuures as well.
