Lemuures and conservation

Lemuures were honoured by conservationalists by a "newly discovered" lemuure being given the name microcebus mittermeieri. The last part of the name is the surname of the president of Conservation International, Russell Mittermeier.

While talking about these mouse lemuuries, and best of luck to them, it must be remembered that other lemuures on Madagascar are having problems because their forest homes have been demolished and they are now part of the endangered species of the world.
